Welcome to the Southampton Barbershop Youth Chorus

For young men between the ages of 13 and 25 we will give you the opportunity to express yourself and discover hidden talent. Close Harmony Singing is exciting, musically stimulating, and great fun.

Objectives: To enable members to benefit musically and socially, to be a musically successful singing group, to train singers' voices and enhance their musical skills,
to perform in public, - and to have fun!

Style of Singing Four part harmony : Tenor (high part) Lead (the Tune)
Baritone (the part that fills in the gaps) Bass (the lower part)

Type of Music: Traditional a capella barbershop harmony; influenced by jazz and swing, and stylised by the pop-culture. The Chorus leader will tailor songs to suit young people's preferences and could include arrangements of popular songs as sung by well-known boy Bands.
